Updated 16HDLOADER

What you'll need

To run HDloader you'll need the following:

1. A Sony PS2 network adapter
2. Either a Sony PS2 HDD (Hard disk) or standard IDE HDD, HD loader reccomend between 40GB and 120GB, however there has been plenty of reports from people having success with smaller disks (apparantly PS2's won't use over 130GB though)
3. A copy of HD loader, alternatively if you wish to use a backed up copy to protect your original obtain a cracked copy (must be cracked backing up your original won't do).

To purchase any of the above click Here

FAQ's

Q HDLoader freezes at the splash screen! Help!

A A few hard disk drives (specifically, a few recent Segate models) do not play nicely with older models of the official Sony PS2 network adapter. Also double check you have the jumper setting on your the HDD your using set to 'Master'

Q Is HDLoader compatible with DVD-9 (Dual layer) games?

A No unfortunatly not, however a work around would be to locate a DVD5 rip of the game your trying to install.

Q Is HDloader compatible with CD games ?

A Yes most CD games should be fine. However there have been many reports of CD-Rips not working.

Q Is HDLoader compatible with modchips?

A Yes with a modchip installed you'll be able to install imports and backups along with originals. However chips that power down after the PS2's boot sequence (such as the Magic 3.1) will not allow you to install imports and backups.

Q When trying to run a game I've just installed I just get a black screen, is there anything I can do ?

A Yes within HDloader highlight the game in question then press select on controller1, then try each different setting. When the game succesfully boots HDloader will remember the setting you used, so there's no need to do this each time.

Q Can I use PS1 games with HDloader ?

A No

Q Do I need to boot up with the HDloader disk inserted in my PS2 each time ?

A Yes (unless using running it from your memory card). However this isn't any great problem though, simply leave it in all the time. Once the game you wish to play has started to load you can remove the HDloader disk if you wish.

Q Can I play online games using HDloader ?

A No, HDloader disables the PS2's network adapter

Q Can I make use of Action Replay/Gameshark codes using HDloader ?

A No this is not possible.

Q How do I install HD loader to my memory card (DMS3 Devmode 1) ?

A Obtain HLOADER.ELF of size = around 640KB
Now create a CDR containing the following

HDLOADER.ELF
SYSTEM.CNF

Using notepad edit SYSTEM.CNF, and copy and paste the following in:

BOOT2 = cdrom0:\HDLOADER.ELF;1
VER = 1.0
VMODE = NTSC

INSTALL.CNF - Again edit this file with notepad and copy and paste the following in:

HDLoader 1.0
mc0:\BOOT\HDLOADER\HDLOADER.ELF
_MKDIR mc0:\BOOT\HDLOADER
_COPY cdrom0:\HDLOADER.ELF;1 mc0:\BOOT\HDLOADER\HDLOADER.ELF

Double check your CDR contains the following:

HDLOADER.ELF
SYSTEM.CNF
INSTALL.CNF

Then using your favourite burning software burn the disk in Mode2.

Tip, if you'd like your PS2 to boot straight into HDloader rather than DMS's explorer, rename HDLOADER.ELF to BOOT.ELF along with all references to the file in SYSTEM.CNF and INSTALL.CNF

Trouble shooting, if your disk will not boot in your PS2, try adding some dummy files to your CDR.

This tutorial is for those who have Toxic OS

This tutorial is for those who have Toxic OS, HDLoader, and/or HDAdvance. Presuming you use one of these, I am guessing you know how to do the independant exploit, if not PM me and I will explain. Those who use Swap Magic and other applications should void this tutorial and seek others for help. Please read carefully or you may have problems playing certain games. Please also note, this tutorial is also for use with WinHiip, a program for transferriing your games to the PS2 Hard drive..

1. First of all, you should head over to PS2HD's Game List and make sure your game is compatable with your current HD game loader. If it is not, you may find the other loaders over at SKS Apps.

2. Next you will need to download a program to put the actual ISOs onto your HDD so they will be playable. I preffer to use WinHiip 1.7 so click here to download it.

3. Here is the fun part.... Shutdown your PC and remove the PS2 Hard Drive from the PS2. After you have removed it, disconnect the Cables from your CD or DVD drive inside your PC and plug them into your PS2's hard drive. Once you make sure everything is connected correctly, boot up your PC and Open WinHiip. Also note, you will not be able to view the contents of your PS2 HD from "My Computer". It will only show up in Windows Administrative Tools, and the program we are about to use, WinHiip. And if WinHiip freezes on you, close it and reopen it. Depending on your PC Specs it will freeze the first time you run it but after that it will run correctly.

From here on in I will post pictures along with text to help you.

4. Pic 1

Ok so from here we click "Select Drive" and click the one in the drop down list that has "(PS2)" in it's name. If it tells you that the drive does not posess a valid PS2 Master Boot record, you will need to format your PS2's hard drive. (Note: If you have the PS2 Hard Drive for Final Fantasy Online, you should not receive this message. If you do, your HD is malfunctioning and should be reformatted.)

5. Ok after you're done formatting, or are ready to add ISOs, we click the "Add Images" button. I will be using the currently released, FullMetal Alchemist 3 (JAP) game. Now you have a new Dialog that has popped up.

Pic 2

Ok so now we click "Add Image(s)" again on this new dialog and browse to where we saved our ISO. We click on the file we want and click the open button. It should return to the previous shown dialog and have a list of the files you have added.

6. Now that we have our ISOs selected, it's time to dump them onto the HD. So click start. Another dialog should pop up to rename the ISO and select the proper "Mode" to run the game correctly.

Pic 3

(Most games do not require a mode, however their are few that do. Check on PS2HD's list to see if it needs any modes to run correctly.) Now that we set our modes, and have renamed the ISO for easy game browsing, Click the "ok" button. And you will see this Dialog:

Pic 4

7. A couple minutes later, the ISOs will be installed and all you have to do is click the "OK" button. It will take you back to the main program and show you your list of games.

Pic 5

Shutdown your computer, unhook the PS2 HD, Put it in your PS2, boot your launching application (HDLoader, Toxic OS, HDAdvanced) and select your game from the list. Thats all their is to it. You're all done =)

PS. Dont forget to hookup whatever you unhooked in your PC before you boot it back up.

= ToxicBIOS v1.4 Release =-

                 -= ToxicBIOS v1.4 Release =-
                 http://www.teamtoxic.com.cn/
Introduction
============

ToxicBIOS is a third party flash upgrade for the DMS4 Lite and Pro modchips by
Team Toxic. Our goal is to provide a host of features which DMS4 owners deserve,
but are sadly lacking in the factory default "legal" flash. Thanks to the
superior hardware design of the DMS4 series chips, we have been able to create
a freeware flash replacement which will unlock your modchips full potential
and enable your console to do things you have only dreamed of :)

Current features provided by ToxicBIOS are as follows:

- Auto-detect and non-swap booting of all disc types (PS2, DVD, PSX, etc)
- Support for DVD+R dual layer media
- Compatible with all PS2 models V1-V14
- Dev.olution mode (from memory card and HDD)
- DVD region free, Macrovision removal and green screen fix for the DVD player
- Auto-ATAD patching for HDD-enabled games
- Fast boot mode for PS2, PSX and DVD movies
- Support for the HDD browser upgrade on a non-Sony HDD
- Set default boot mode to: Normal, MC/HDD Dev.olution, Fast Boot
- Playstation 2 game video fix (Colour Carrier, PAL, NTSC, PAL60), with
  automatic y-position correction
- Playstation 1 game video fix
- Enable MegaMemory memory cards without the need for the boot disc
- Configuration menu where various settings can be manipulated
- "Toxic" logo displayed at the PS2 logo screen
- When booting from Dev.olution mode or Fast Boot, games use correct language
- Modchip disable mode, for online gaming
- Support for the Codebreaker cheat device
- 100% boot rate
- Much, much more to come!

*****************************************************************************
NOTE: All HDD related features are unsupported on the PStwo (V12) console for
      obvious reasons ;)
*****************************************************************************

Detailed Feature Overview
=========================

-> Dev.olution mode

Using Dev.olution mode you can boot applications from either the memory
card or hard disk drive. When booting in MC Dev.olution mode, the ELF file
"mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF" is launched. This ELF file can be anything you want,
such as DMS Explorer, PS2Menu, PS2OS etc. To boot in MC Dev.olution mode
either hold down TRIANGLE on controller 1 while the PS2 is booting, or
set default boot mode to MC Dev.olution in the configuration menu. Currently
the only application which can be launched with HDD Dev.olution mode is
DMS HDD Explorer. Once HDD Explorer is installed, you may boot in HDD
Dev.olution mode by either holding down START on controller 1 while the PS2
is booting, or set default boot mode to HDD Dev.olution in the configuration
   menu.

NOTE: From ToxicBIOS v1.2 and up you must use DMS HDD Explorer v1.3 or
greater. Older versions are no longer supported.

-> ATAD auto-patching

When ATAD auto-patching is enabled, you can connect a non-Sony HDD to your
PS2 and use it as though it was an official Sony drive. You will be able
to install and use the HDD browser update (found on the HDD utility disc) on
a non-Sony HDD, and you will be able to partially install some games with
HDD support to improve performance.. even though this is a bit pointless
with the existence of HDLoader ^_^

-> Fast boot mode

Fast boot mode allows you to skip the redundant "swirling electrons" and
various logo screens and directly load your PS2/PSX game or DVD movie as
soon as you turn on the console, saving valuable time which would be better
spent gaming. To use fast boot mode, either hold down SELECT while the PS2
is booting or set default boot mode to fast boot in the configuration menu.

-> DVD+R dual layer media support

Until now it has been impossible to play DVD9 games backed up onto dual
layer media on the PS2 due to a problem with reading from the second layer
because the data format on burnt DL discs is different than on pressed
discs (burnt = OTP, pressed = PTP). However, we have discovered a software
hack which enables the PS2 to read even burnt OTP discs meaning it is now
possible to make backups of dual layer games such as GT4. ToxicBIOS includes
an "auto-patching" mechanism which applies this patch on the fly. The
auto-patcher is disabled by default, to enable set "DVD+R DL Support" in
   the settings menu.

NOTE: Unfortunately due to software restrictions the auto-patching will
not work if you boot your DL backup from the updated Sony browser
stored on the HDD. If you are using the updated browser then in
order to play your DL backups you must boot them with fastboot.
If you are not using the browser update then there are no
limitations regarding how you can boot DL backups.

-> Default boot mode

Using the configuration menu you can set the default boot mode to one of the
following: Normal, Fast Boot, MC Dev.olution, HDD Dev.olution. If you do not
manually specify a boot mode while the PS2 is booting by holding down a
button on controller 1, the default boot mode will be used. For example if
the default boot mode is set to MC Dev.olution, when you turn on the PS2
without holding down any buttons on the controller, your MC Dev.olution
application will be loaded from the memory card. If you then wish to boot
normally (i.e.: boot through standard browser) hold down CROSS on controller
1 while booting to over-ride the default boot mode.

-> Playstation 2 game video fix

There are 4 different modes for the PS2 video MODE fix, as described below:

   - Colour Carrier: The colour carrier of the video signal is changed to
match the region of your console.
   - Force PAL: Video mode forced to PAL (50hz), regardless of what video mode
     games try to set.
   - Force NTSC: Video mode forced to NTSC (60hz), regardless of what video
     mode games try to set.
   - Force PAL60: Video mode forced to PAL60, which is 60hz with PAL colour
     carrier.

In addition to the PS2 video MODE fix, you can also enable the PS2 video
Y-POS fix. The y-position fix is used in conjunction with the PS2 video
MODE fix in order to correct the vertical position of the display. For
example, simply focing PAL when a NTSC game is running will generally result
in the display being far off center. The y-position fix corrects this and
centers the display. Please note that the y-position fix is not available
when the PS2 video MODE fix is off or set to Color Carrier, since in these
cases the video mode is not forced so the display position will not need
to be corrected. Please note that the y-position fix feature should still
be considered EXPERIMENTAL and has been known to cause problems with a few
games. If a game isnt working, disable the y-position fix and see if this
   helps.

You can configure the PS2 video MODE and PS2 video Y-POS fixes in the
   configuration menu.

-> Configuration Menu

The configuration menu is used to manipulate various ToxicBIOS settings, for
example enabling or disabling ATAD auto-patching. The configuration menu also
displays useful information about your PS2 system and DMS4 modchip. To enter
the configuration menu, hold down SQUARE on controller 1 while the PS2 is
   booting.

-> Disable Mode

When playing online games it is often necessary to disable the modchip so you
do not get a DNAS error while connecting to the online game server. To
disable DMS4, hold down L1 on controller 1 as the PS2 is booting. You will
see a message saying that the modchip has been disabled. Insert your game and
reset the console - the modchip will not be disabled and will stay disabled
until the PS2 is placed in standby.

-> Codebreaker cheat device support

The more recent codebreaker cheat devices include a protection system which
is designed to detect the presence of modchips and prevent the application
from working on a modified system. ToxicBIOS bypasses this protection and
allows codebreaker to work properly, however you must first set
"Auto Tray Eject" to OFF in the options menu.

Boot-time controller mapping
============================

When the console is booting, holding down certain buttons on controller 1 will
activate certain modes/features. These are listed below:

CROSS    - Use standard boot (over-ride default boot mode setting)
   TRIANGLE - MC Dev.olution mode
   START    - HDD Dev.olution mode
   SELECT   - Fast boot mode
   SQUARE   - Load configuration menu
   L1       - Disable modchip

How to Install
==============

Installation directions vary depending on boot method:

- ELF boot: Simply execute the ELF using your favorite loader application
(PS2Menu, PS2Link, Naplink, PS2OS, LaunchELF etc) and follow the on-screen
  directions.

- CD boot: Simply burn the BIN/CUE provided, boot the disc and follow the
  on-screen directions.

Notes on V14 support
====================

Currently the PS1 game video fix is not functional while using ToxicBIOS with
a V14 console. This will be fixed in a future release.

To flash ToxicBIOS to a DMS4 NORMAL modchip installed in a V14, a specific
procedure must be used since the factory flash shipped with DMS4 NORMAL modchips
only has partial support for V14 consoles. You will probably not be able to boot
the Toxic upgrade disc so in order to flash the modchip we suggest copying the
upgrade ELF onto a memory card and loading it via Dev.olution mode. This
DOES NOT apply to the DMS4 S.E. modchips which have V14 support included in the
  factory flash!

Frequently Asked Questions
==========================

Q: Can I disable the "Toxic" logo displayed under the Playstation 2 logo when
   booting PS2 games?
A: Yes. Set "Display Toxic Logo" to NO in the configuration menu.

Q: Why do I get the "TV system doesn't match" error while trying to play a
   DVD movie?
A: You will be presented with this error if you attempt to play a PAL movie on
a NTSC console. This is due to a limitation in the DVD player software and
currently there is no way around this. We are looking into ways to fix this
and hopefully a fix will be included in a future ToxicBIOS release.

Q: I have a feature request or bug report for Team Toxic. How can I contact you?
A: We do not provide any contact details such as e-mail addresses etc, however
we do monitor various "scene" forums so if you have a request or a problem
then just make a post and there is a good chance we will see it and take note
   of it :)

Q: I have a game which isnt loading or working prorperly. What can I do?

   1) Disable y-position fix if it is enabled. This is still experimental and
has been known to cause problems with a few games.
   2) Make sure that the game is burnt on good quality media at an appropriate
speed. If your PS2's laser cannot read from your disc, the game will
      obviously not work.

Group News
==========

We would like to apologise for the delay with the release of ToxicOS 0.4. Work
on the release was suspended for personal reasons, however now we have now
resumed develoment and the release should follow shortly. Unfortunately the
integrated FTP server will not be included with the 0.4 release due to
stability issues but we hope to have this worked out for the following
release. Hopefully our integrated cheat device will make up for it :)

For those who dont already know, we have recently launched a Team Toxic
website which will be used by us to post news relating to our releases
and host Toxic flash downloads - http://www.teamtoxic.com.cn/

Miscellaneous

ToxicBIOS may be hosted by anybody, anywhere - PROVIDED that the archive
remains unaltered and that it is not used in ways its not supposed to be!

Oh, and props to the DMS team for making such a nice modchip - even though
the flash they ship with the chip sucks and cant do much of anything

To get the plugin working: for PCSX2

To get the plugin working:

1- Put MegaDev9.dll in the plugins folder of PCSX2 (NOT THE ROOT FOLDER), otherwise it won't
show up in the plugins list. The plugin doesn't require any external DLL to work. (that may change in the future, namely, WinPcap
comes to mind when talking about ethernet support)

2- Make sure you've a DEV9-capable PS2 BIOS. Slim PS2 BIOSes aren't compatible (Thanks to
Suloku for this info), and BIOSes from old PS2s with PCMCIA aren't too (afaik). You must also
have the EROM, ROM1 and ROM2 files with your BIOS. In other words, you must have a
complete BIOS dump from your PS2. Don't complain that the plugin doesn't work if you're
using a downloaded (illegal) BIOS. (DEV9-capable BIOSes are SCPH-3XXXX and SCPH-5XXXX).

3- Configure the plugin. For that you must launch PCSX2,
select MegaDev9 in the DEV9 plugins
list and click on the Configure button. A GUI will show up, here's its description :
-Enable logging : this is only for debugging purposes. The plugin will write all events
to a file.
-HDD file : enter the path and the name of the HDD image (see below for more info about
HDD image). If you leave it, the image will be created in the PCSX2 root folder.
-HDD size : select the size you want for the emulated HDD (HDD image). You can choose
from 1 GB to 127 GBs. I recommend selecting at least 8 GBs, lower sizes could cause problems.

4- Launch your game/program in PCSX2. The first time, the HDD image will be created in the path that you
previously configured. This may take more or less time depending on the HDD size you've selected. Wait until
the progress bar gets complete (100%). Then your program will ask for formatting if it's able to do this. If
you followed the previous steps right, your program won't ask for formatting anymore, nor other
programs will do.

The HDD image is a file that will be used as a HDD, ie. when your program writes data in the
HDD, the plugin will write these data in this file. Don't delete or move it without
reconfiguring the HDD file path in the plugin, or you may cause problems.

Troubleshooting
Note : if your problem persists or if it's not described here, tell me. Attach a log file
if possible.

When I run HDLoader, I get a black screen.
If you're using GSDX, enable "Logarithmic Z" in its options (Thanks to tich). If you're using speed hacks, disable them.

My program always asks for formatting.
If you've this problem, make sure you've a complete BIOS dump from a DEV9-capable PS2. The
first models with PCMCIA aren't DEV9-capable, and the slim PS2s aren't too. Make sure the
console doesn't tell it couldn't find rom1, rom2 or erom, these files are needed.

My program fails writing to the HDD.
Make sure you've enough space on your real HDD and also that the HDD image is big enough. Make
sure the HDD image doesn't have read-only attribute.

When I use savestates, I've problems with HDD funcs in my program.
That's normal, savestates aren't supported yet.

When I use the HDD command X, it doesn't work, it reports an error.
The command you're trying to use isn't implemented, or you're passing invalid args.

How can I copy games with HDLoader ?
First, be sure to use at least PCSX2 0.9.6. Older versions have a CDVD timing bug which prevents HDLoader to work correctly.
You need to insert your game DVD in your drive (or opening the ISO if you're using an ISO CDVD plugin), and open the HDLoader
ELF file. This way, you should be able to copy your games smoothly. Pretty hacky, I know, but for the moment no CDVD plugin supports DVD hot swapping.
Anyway, keep this in mind: YOU CAN'T BOOT THE GAMES YOU COPIED IN THE HDD !!! Because of a bug I haven't found yet.

I need help !
If you can find me documents about the DEV9 device, you're highly welcome !
ATM, my only document for that ****ing device is the sources of PS2SDK. They actually helped me a lot as HDLoader uses
the same DEV9 code as PS2SDK !

Note:
I designed the plugin to be as many portable as possible. The only Win32-only thing is the GUI.
If somebody is interested in porting the plugin for Linux, he's free to do it. Isolate all the
Win32-specific code with #ifdef / #endif tags.

Changelog:

Version 1.0.0
-First version, support for HDD emulation.

Version 1.0.1
-Reduced the IRQ timings
-The minimal HDD size is now 8 GBs, lower sizes seem to cause problems
-Implemented the Idle command
-Implemented the nIen bit in control reg (disables IRQ)
-Fixed a bug occuring when pressing Escape then running another HDD-compliant program in PCSX2
-Implemented the Sony-specific security control command (0x8E), the programs that want a Sony HDD should now work without a patch
-Changed a bit the Identify device command, maybe it will fix Final Fantasy XII.

Download the plugin and its sources in the attachments.

Compatibility of the HDD image:
The HDD image can be mounted with Mount Image Pro or any other image mounter. After you mounted the image, you can use it with HD Handiness (see SKSApps). WinHIIP says that HDL file settings is corrupt, I don't know why, maybe this is because I used an image of 8 GBs. Simply click OK and you'll be able to use it without corrupting your HDD image. Make sure you unmount the image before launching PCSX2, otherwise the plugin won't success to open the HDD image.

What you must know about the Sony HDD:
The Sony HDD is a standard HDD, but its firmware has been modified by Sony in order to support a command that standard HDDs don't support. Sending this command to the HDD is the only way to distinguish if the HDD is Sony or not, if it reports an error, then it's not a Sony HDD. This command is implemented in version 1.0.1 and later, so Sony programs will work with it. This command is "SCE security control" (0x8E).

What is planned for next versions:
- More intelligent HDD image format (automatic compression of zero-filled blocks + LZ77 compression) (will be incompatible with WinHiip )
- Better implementation of SCE security command
- Better IRQ handling and such
- 48-bit support (no more 127 GBs limit, if you've a big HDD)
- EEPROM emulation
- The long-awaited Ethernet emulation

Credits to :
- Authors of PS2SDK and DEV9Linuz, without these source codes I couldn't have figured out how DEV9 works.
- Authors of various documents explaining how PC IDE controllers work.
- Suloku for pointing out the compatibility problems with slim PS2 BIOSes.
- KabooZ for the infos about the Sony HDD.
- MiKE41 for his great help (testing).

PS2 Exploit Utility Guide

PS2 Exploit Utility Guide
This guide will help you in creating an Exploit for your MC with the use of the Utility. The Utility is a step-by-step process, so lets start with the first Tab.
Welcome
Just some info to read, nothing to do here.
Most users will find just reading thru each step, will instruct on what to do, but i will try to further simplify each step's options.
Title.DB
If you know the PSX ID already, just type it into the "CurrentID" box & press Add to Title.DB button. You can skip to the next tab.
1-Put a PSX game disc into your PC's CD drive.
2-select the drive letter of your CD drive in the drop box
3-press the Get ID from CD button. The correct ID should now be in the box.
4-press Add to Title.DB The ID should appear in the box on the right side.
5- repeat 1-4 to add a few more IDs to the title.db incase of incompatability , otherwise you will have to create another title.db with a different psx game ID. This is optional, but recommended. 2-10 IDs should be plenty. Any of the psx discs can trigger the exploit if they are compatable.
If you have a working title.db file already and want to use it, press the Import Title.DB
If you want to save the title.db you just created for use with another app, press the Export Title.DB to save it to your PC .
Loader
A loader is used to load any .elf files you have on your MC. An elf file is an .exe for the PS2, meaning its an app. uLaunchELF is a file management program as well as an ELF loader. Included as a default selection is version 3.61 You can use this or if you wish to use the current version, download the latest version & extract the BOOT.ELF  from the zip, then select Other, and navigate to its location on your PC. You can use a different Elf Loader if you wish, instead of uLaunchelf.
Files
Download other apps you want to run from your MC.  Extract the .elf file from the zip file.
press Browse for file for each .elf you want on the MC.
Press Browse for folder if you have a folder containing files you want on the MC.
Size of all added files shows the over-all size of all the apps your adding, so dont add more than you have space available on the MC.
IP Options
If you plan to use a Home Network to connect the PS2 to your PC for file transfers, this is where you can set the configuration file.
If not, go to the next tab.
Region
This is a very important step. there are 3 regions used, so be sure you select where you are from. There are other apps & games that are assigned regions and only work with the same region.
Extras
Dummy File
150MB  for CD
999MB for DVD.
If you are installing via HD Loader/HD Advance , or With a cheat Cd and USB stick, then put 0
LaunchELF Pre-Configuration
Put a mark in the box for .ELF Auto Start if you want to load an app without needing to press any buttons.Select the app from the drop menu. Set the delay to the time (in secs) you want it to take before loading the app.
The rest is the buttons you can assign to uLaunchELF. When you press a button assigned in Ulaunchelf, it will load the app.Other wise nothing will happen until you press something .You dont have to assign anything for it to work, but you should. Otherwise you will have to do it manually each time you want to load an app.
Background Image:
uLaunchELF is skinnable with a background & ability to change the font colors. If you dont know what you can use, dont put anything. Tutorials
Create the Exploit
Output Format
bin/cue : use this if installing with HD Loader/HD Advance disc. Use Winhiip to add to the PS2's HDD
file output: puts each file made by the Utility into a folder so you can create your own ISO, .Max or use the files with another app.
Options for CD Image
Exploit Installer CD: burn this to CD & use a swap method to install to MC.
Live CD: use this if you want to run uLaunchelf or any elf on the CD. Good for slim users. You can install to MC by running the INSTALL_EXPLOIT.ELF
Memory Card Format(XPS): saves in.xps You can use PS2 SaveBuilder to convert to a different extesion for use with your cheat disc & a USB Stick.
Modchip Trigger Disc: creates a CD that boots the boot.elf on a MC . Modchips only! Useful to those with a slim ps2.
If you need more info about the formats, click the Learn about the different formats button.
If your sure you have done everything correctly, click the Create Exploit! button to create your exploit. I would check each tab again first.
A folder is created  with your exploit C:/ Iscentral
Exploit Sender
This is an app that can allow you to install with the use of a cheat disc running on your ps2, if you dont have a USB Stick. Uses the .XPS file output, or whatever you converted it to for your cheat disc. You  can also transfer game saves this way too.

TUTORIAL WINHIIP

        TUTORIAL WINHIIP

COPIying games onto a Hard Drive for your PS2 with HDLoader CD

Preparing a PlayStation 2 (PS2) for use with HDAdvance(HDLoader prefrebly) is easy.Take a standard ATA/IDE hard drive (up to 120GB), attach it to a PlayStation 2 Network Adaptor, and slide the contraption into PS2's expansion bay. Insert the disc and load the software. That's it.
HDLoader's simple menu provides the expected options for imaging, running, renaming, and deleting your PS2 backups. The process of imaging a disc to the hard drive is often time-consuming due to the relatively slow speed of the PS2's optical drive. It usually takes the average game to load between 7 and 30 minutes to fully download depending on the full content of the game.

myPS2 v1.2 Tutorial

myPS2 v1.2  Tutorial
Basic guide to using myPS2
Use whatever exploit method you know to get the myPS2 folders & files to your MC or HDD. I used uLaunchELF v3.50 .
If you use a USB Stick, you can create the MYPS2 folder with all the files, then use uLaunchELF's FileBrowser to copy the entire directory to the MC or HDD.
Then use uLaunchELF to launch the myPS2.elf

Installing

 MC:
MYPS2/  <--create this folder, put the following directories , subdirectories & files in it. (all are case sensitive)
  • /boot/
  •  /fonts/
  •  /language/
  •  /shoutcast/
  •  /skins/
  •  /logs/
  • MYPS2.ELF
  • CONFIG.DAT
  • samba.xml
  • myps2.icn   <--Icon i made for the ps2 browser (optional)
  • icon.sys      <--Icon data for the ps2 browser's save name (optional)
  • USBD.IRX <--need this to access any USB device
<~~~~OR~~~~>
 HDD:
If you want to install the program to your HDD you must add two entries to the CONFIG.DAT file:
hdd_boot_part             =hdd0:PARTITION
  • hdd0:_PARTITION  (if a system partition) made by formatting app
  • hdd0:+PARTITION (if a common partition) made by you with an app
hdd_boot_path            = /MYPS2/
Replace PARTITION with whatever you named the partition your putting the MYPS2 folder in.
hdd_boot_part is the name of the partition you have myPS2 installed on.
hdd_boot_path is the path of the directory you have myPS2 installed in.
EXAMPLE:
hdd_boot_part                      = hdd0:+MYPS2hdd_boot_path                      = /MYPS2/
Follow the format of the other entries, this is my configuration, then save as UTF-8 in notepad.
[HDD] [PARTITION] [FOLDER] [hdd0:+MYPS2/MYPS2/] this is the address as seen in uLaunchELFv3.50
Next..........
MYPS2/  <--create this folder, put the following directories , subdirectories & files in it. (all are case sensitive)
  • /boot/
  •  /fonts/
  •  /language/
  •  /shoutcast/
  •  /skins/
  •  /logs/
  • MYPS2.ELF
  • CONFIG.DAT
  • samba.xml
  • USBD.IRX

 <~~~~OR~~~~>
CD:
You can also run the program from CD. To do this burn the files on CD along with the SYSTEM.CNF file.
  • boot/
  • fonts/
  • language/
  • shoutcast/
  • skins/
  • logs/
  • MYPS2.ELF
  • CONFIG.DAT
  • samba.xml
  • SYSTEM.CNF
  • DUMMY.DAT
  • USBD.IRX
You should also add a dummy file to the compilation.
It doesn't matter what this file is, just make sure it's at least 30 MB. Its only to fill space on the cd for easier reading by the PS2.
Use the method you know to burn the CD.

Configuring myPS2

USB Support
If you want to use your USB stick with myPS2 you need to supply an USBD.IRX module. You can find this module on many PS2 game discs so you can just copy it from one of your games.
Alternatively you can use the usbd module from Naplink which can be downloaded at http://naplink.napalm-x.com/
myPS2 will look for the USBD.IRX module in the installation directory first. If it can't find the file in the installation directory it will then look for the module on the memory card in the following places:
 - mc0:/USBD.IRX
 - mc0:/SYS-CONF/USBD.IRX
 - mc0:/BOOT/USBD.IRX
 - mc0:/BOOT/SMS/USBD.IRX
 - mc0:/BOOT/PS2MP3/USBD.IRX
 - mc0:/SMS/USBD.IRX
 - mc0:/PS2MP3/USBD.IRX
HDD Partition
If myPS2 detects a HDD on startup but cannot find a myPS2 partition, it will
ask you if you want to create one and guide you through the process. You don't
have to create a HDD partition but doing so will allow to use advanced features
such as Thumbnail Caching.

Accessing Samba (Windows) Network Shares
You can access shared network folders from myPS2. To share a folder on a network under Windows XP, right click it and select "Sharing and Security".
To access the share from myPS2 you must then add an entry to the samba.xml file.
An entry in the file would look like this :

<share>
              <name>My C-Drive (SMB)</name>
              <path>smb://username:password@computer/C/</path>
</share>
name is the name that will show up in the menu.
path is the path to the network share.
The path can include a username and a password, as in the example above.
Whether this is neccessary or not depends on your Windows/Samba configuration.
computer is the network name of the computer. You can also enter the IP address of the computer instead of its name.
If you want to use this feature you must first configure the network in the Network Settings menu.
For more information on using myPS2, consult the 'read me' that was included with  myPS2v1
